1 No Cost EFTPOS may not enable you to recover all your costs of taking electronic payments with Tyro Payments Ltd (ABN 49 103 575 042) (Tyro). It does not cover:

  • your EFTPOS machine rental if you transact less than $10,000 per month (excluding Alipay transactions and transactions processed and settled to you under a separate agreement with American Express or JCB) using your Tyro EFTPOS facility;
  • any transaction where you manually impose a surcharge (for example, using your POS software) or disable Tyro’s surcharging feature;
  • any fees that are associated with your POS;
  • if you have Tyro eCommerce or otherwise use your Tyro facility to accept electronic payments online, the costs of accepting those electronic payments;
  • if you have a separate agreement with American Express and/or JCB which governs how transactions are processed and settled to you, any fees payable to American Express and/or JCB based on that agreement;
  • EFTPOS machine rental for any EFTPOS machines you rent from us, or any EFTPOS machine paper rolls you purchase from us, that exceed your reasonable business needs; or any optional accessories that you purchase from Tyro.

2 Dynamic Surcharging is available for Mastercard, Visa, eftpos, UnionPay, American Express, JCB, and Diners Club transactions. The Dynamic Surcharging feature is not available for eCommerce transactions or to customers on No Cost EFTPOS pricing. By default, we do not include your EFTPOS machine rental costs into the calculation of your cost of acceptance, however you may choose to apply these costs into your calculation of your cost of acceptance via the Tyro Portal subject to the surcharging rules as set by the RBA and enforced by ACCC and, in relation to American Express transactions, the American Express Merchant Operating Guide (found at americanexpress.com.au/merchantopguide).

3 Tyro does not guarantee any cost savings by opting in for Tap & Save. Savings on eligible transactions processed through the cheapest network vary for each business depending on their card mix, transaction volume and amount, industry, and pricing plan. Eligible transactions are contactless debit card transactions less than $1,000. Tap & Save is not available on Special Offer pricing, Card Not-Present Transactions or where you surcharge on debit card transactions as cost savings may not be realised. 4 Tyro Go EFTPOS reader requires a Bluetooth-enabled mobile device or tablet, the Tyro Go App to be installed, and mobile network coverage. Check Google Play & App Store for the latest OS compatibility requirements.

5 Tap to Pay on iPhone requires iPhone Xs or later running iOS 16.4 or later via the Tyro BYO App. Some contactless cards may not be accepted by the Tyro BYO App. The Contactless Symbol is a trademark owned by and used with permission of EMVCo, LLC. For more details, see https://developer.apple.com/tap-to-pay/. The Tyro BYO App requires mobile connectivity for use.

6 Tyro may undertake a credit check with a credit reporting agency when checking your eligibility for a Tyro loan. Tyro loans are subject to Tyro’s eligibility and credit criteria. A personal guarantee is required and loan repayments are subject to minimum repayment amounts. A Tyro Bank account is required. Other conditions may apply.

7 Settles instantly into your Tyro Bank Account, otherwise within a few business days if your EFTPOS transactions settle to a non-Tyro Bank account.

8 No paperwork required for loan amounts already pre-approved by Tyro. Merchant requests for more funds are subject to Tyro’s credit criteria which may require additional paperwork.

9 Takings include all transactions processed on the Tyro EFTPOS Facility and eCommerce Facility.

10 Settlements are paid 7 days a week when you meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • The daily takings from your Tyro EFTPOS and/or eCommerce facility are settled into the Tyro Bank Account; and
  • The Flexible Settlement Allocation feature is configured to leave a percentage of your daily takings in the Tyro Bank Account each day.

Available settlement times are from 8pm to 5am (Sydney time). Excludes Alipay, HealthPoint and funds settled directly by Afterpay, American Express, JCB and Diners Club.

11 Tyro’s Pay@Table and SplitBills features are only available where the POS/PMS supports the integration. SplitBills is only available with Tyro’s Pay@Table feature.

12 As at May 2022, 112 currencies are supported by Tyro’s provider, Pure Commerce.
